Today in clinic we were BUSY! We did everything from HHX to OHI...but it was so fun!! I got to work with Sarah today. She is so stinkin cute!!! We had fun telling each other our made up oral hygiene habits. We made up some pretty bad ones so we could practice teaching OHI.
It was really good to do all of that all in one day because it really started to click how everything flowed together. I'm so excited to get to start working with patients at the end of this semester and the start of Spring.
I'm still questioning my exploring skills and my indirect vision is ridiculous. He he. I have taken my typodont home a bunch to practice and I've practiced on myself with my instruments...but nothing seems to be helping. I'm sure it will all come with practice tho.
OH...I almost forgot to mention. Hailey smacked me really hard today on the bum...she was getting me back from last week which I suppose I deserve. Ha ha...but I think Hailey just wanted to touch my butt. ;) (JK Hails) ha ha I love that girl...she's my BUd.

Hi, my name is Darika Murphy. I am an off campus Weber student earning my bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. I earned my A.S. in dental hygiene from Salt Lake Community College ’07 and am working full time as a dental hygienist in the Salt Lake Valley. When I was in hygiene school I found practicing on the typodont pretty strange myself. It wasn't til probing and scaling on real patients that it made sense to me.
